Web designer invoice template
A web design invoice should read like the quote the client already accepted: the same line items, the deposit shown as a credit, and a clear line about when the files hand over. The sample below does all three.

What belongs on a web designer invoice
Bill the exact line items the client agreed to — a final invoice that introduces new wording invites a new negotiation.
Clients trust an invoice that subtracts what they've already paid in front of them, instead of asking them to do the arithmetic.
One sentence — files and CMS access transfer on receipt — is the polite version of leverage, and it belongs on the invoice, not in a follow-up email.
The preview uses the Modern layout — you can switch between all three templates in the editor without losing a word.
Quoting the job before it’s won? There’s a web designer quote template too — your client accepts it online, and one click turns it into this invoice.
Web designer invoicing questions
Should a web designer invoice per page or per project?
Bill the project the way you quoted it. If the quote was itemized per page, keep those lines on the invoice so the client can match the two documents at a glance.
When do I invoice the final balance?
On launch or on delivery of final files, whichever the quote named. Invoicing at 'launch' you don't control (client delays) is how balances age — name a deliverable you control.
