Carpenter invoice template
Custom carpentry bills in a shape most trades don't: a deposit when materials are ordered, the balance at install. The sample shows that flow on one invoice — and carries the line every joiner learns to include: made-to-measure work is non-returnable.

What belongs on a carpenter invoice
Custom stock can't be restocked. Taking and crediting a materials deposit on the invoice protects you the day the client's plans change.
Measuring, speccing and drawing is the first line, not free sales work — billing it filters the clients who were never going to build.
One sentence stops a cancelled job from becoming your lumber problem.
The preview uses the Clean layout — you can switch between all three templates in the editor without losing a word.
Carpenter invoicing questions
How much deposit for custom work?
Materials cost plus a slice of labor — commonly 30–50%. Show it as a credited negative line on the final invoice so the arithmetic is the client's to see, not to do.
Hourly or fixed for built-ins?
Fixed for defined pieces, with hours shown only as the labor line's quantity. Open-ended site work (repairs, easing doors) stays hourly.
