Handyman invoice template
Handyman work is a list, and the invoice should read like the list got done. The sample bills hours against a minimum, passes materials at cost with receipts, and names every completed task in the notes — the line customers actually show their spouse.
Opens in the free editor with the sample below pre-filled — swap the numbers for yours.
What belongs on a handyman invoice
The notes section carrying "closet door re-hung, 2 faucet washers…" is the whole receipt experience. It's also your record when the list grows in memory.
"4h minimum" on the labor line explains why a 3-hour visit bills 4 — before anyone has to ask.
Passing materials through transparently (or with a stated markup) keeps the focus on your labor rate, which is where your margin should live.
The preview uses the Clean layout — you can switch between all three templates in the editor without losing a word.
Handyman invoicing questions
Hourly or per task?
Mixed lists bill best hourly against a half-day minimum. Single defined tasks (mount a TV) can be flat — but then the flat price is the line, and hours don't appear.
Do I mark up materials?
Either pass at cost with receipts, or apply a stated pickup fee. The one wrong answer is a silent markup a customer can discover at the hardware store.
