Graphic designer invoice template
Identity work has a specific failure mode: the client assumes they owned the logo from the first deposit. A design invoice fixes that with one line — copyright transfers on final payment — and the sample keeps it front and center.
Opens in the free editor with the sample below pre-filled — swap the numbers for yours.
What belongs on a graphic designer invoice
The invoice is the document clients actually re-open. "Full copyright transfer on receipt of payment" belongs on it verbatim.
"Vector + raster, light/dark" on the line tells the client the deliverable is complete — and makes the eventual "can you send it as a PNG" a covered request, not a new job.
A fourth logo concept or third revision round gets its own line at the pre-agreed rate. Folding it in teaches clients that pushing is free.
The preview uses the Modern layout — you can switch between all three templates in the editor without losing a word.
Quoting the job before it’s won? There’s a graphic designer quote template too — your client accepts it online, and one click turns it into this invoice.
Graphic designer invoicing questions
Should design revisions appear on the invoice?
Included rounds live inside the package line ("2 revision rounds"); additional rounds are separate lines. The split is what makes the boundary real.
Do I release files before payment?
Watermarked previews yes, final files no. The invoice states it, so withholding files is policy, not a personal standoff.
